Special screening

Film producer and broadcaster Mary Kate O'Flanagan celebrated her birthday in style last night with a private screening of one of her favourite films. Many of her closest friends gathered for cocktails in the Odessa Club, where the classic that is Tootsie was being shown.

Mary Kate's sister Rebecca, who is a lecturer in film, gave a running commentary on the movie, which, for those of you who don't know, is much more complex than you might think!

Among the faces flickering from the silver screen were newscaster Aengus MacGrianna, who is off to New York next week, TV producer Traolach O'Buchalla and restaurant critic Ross Golden - Bannon. Many of Mary Kate's family were also in attendance, including her father who is a retired diplomat.

After all the Cosmo cocktails had been consumed I'm sure more than a few of the guests were walking like Dorethy Micheals in a pair of her highest heels.
