On the Rise

I almost forgot to mention the launch party for the BudRising music festival which was hosted in CrawDaddy on Tuesday evening. Now in it's second year, BudRising, brought to you by Budweiser, brings the creme de la creme of musical talent to a venue near you.

Beginning on June 1st, it promises 7 days and nights of sounds from today's biggest names, tomorrow's heroes and a handful of legends including Roots Manuva, Beck, The Hives, The Chalets and Weezer. The major news about this year's festival is the extension to the big time. In August the gig spreads it's wings and will host huge concerts at Marley Park and Lansdowne Road with acts such as the Scissor Sisters, Chemical Brothers and Fraz Ferdinand, who will play their only Irish gig. Take me out!

At Tuesday night's bash and tasty BBQ (the first of the year) were DJs Hugh Scully and Arveene, model Sinead Burt, Nadine Wai - O'Flynn of Principle Management, all loving the performance from DJ du jour Mylo, no doubt.

Come summer the Bud sure will be Rising.
