Samsung Mobile hosted an exclusive launch party at City Hall Dublin to celebrate the launch of the stylish new Samsung Galaxy Note II – its newest smartphone. The new Galaxy Note II enables unique experiences in personalised and expressive content creation making it the ultimate smartphone for on-the-go creativity.

The historic venue was transformed into a white themed Galaxy for the evening complete with rotating floor and advanced Samsung smartphone technology. On arrival guests were greeted by Gary Twohig, General Manager of Samsung Ireland together with real-life Grecian statues.

Well known personalities at the event included Leinster rugby players Mike Ross and Isaac Boss, newlywed RTE presenter Daíthí O’Sé and Daisy Regan of Quintessentially Lifestyle.  Models Lisa Madden and Hannah Devane were fabulous in white, while Ash Quinn was on hand to help former Miss Ireland Holly Carpenter celebrate her birthday.

Irish designer Peter O’Brien launched his third Autumn Winter collection for Arnotts at a show in the Henry Street store recently.  The capsule collection of 28 styles, showed off Peter's signature style as five models paraded around a square black catwalk and showcased this seasons looks accompanied by the Carolan string quartet.

In attendance on the night were Lorraine Keane, Pamela Flood, Blanaid Ni Choffaigh, Deborah Veale, Clodagh McKenna, Sarah McDonnell, Sonya Lennon, Glenda Gilson, Maria Tecce and Claudia Carroll.

Guests enjoyed Santa Rita Reserva Sauvignon Blanc and Santa Rita Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon along with a selection of canapés from Clodagh’s Kitchen. Guests left with a goody bag featuring gifts from Dior and Appleby jewellers, who will be opening in the Arnotts jewellery hall later this month.

The event also saw a first in Irish innovation being unveiled as Arnotts and Peter O’Brien team up with the Gesaky Interactive Mirror. Hailed as a shoppers dream gadget, the mirror comes equipped with three full length panel mirrors that display images and details from the collection along with the suggested pieces that will finish off a full outfit.

Dublin's Odeon Cinema at the Point Village in Dublin was a hive of activity for the Irish premiere screening of Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted. Guests arrived on the night to be greeted by the colourful characters from the movie, followed by an after party in The Fossetts Circus big top which was erected on the Point Village Plaza.  

Marion Fossett and her international troop put on a spectacular performance for the celebrity guests as the adults enjoyed a wine reception along with hot dogs and burgers while the children gathered around the circus ring to savour the live entertainment.  

Spotted in attendance were Mary Coughlan, Martin King and Jenny McCarthy, Craig and Doon Doyle, Emma O’Driscoll, Hazel and Gail Kaneswaren as well as Vivienne Connolly, Audrey McGrath and George McMahon.

Discerning drinkers have a new temple to worship at with Dublin’s newest cocktail emporium (and best kept secret) the Vintage Cocktail Club (VCC).  Guests on the night included Bressie, actor Chris O’Dowd, Mary Scott of TV3’s Head Chef fame; model Julie Kavanagh, TV and radio presenter Aidan Power and Today FM’s Ray Foley.

Situated in the heart of Dublin’s city centre in Crown Alley, Dublin 2 the stylish new venue is spread over three floors and offers a unique nightlife experience like never before seen in Ireland.  As the name suggests it’s vintage by nature with quirky decor and a laid back, speakeasy vibe.

Upon arrival, guests were treated to a selection of VCC’s cocktails all of which were created by VCC’s Head Mixologist and General Manager, Gareth Lambe. The party atmosphere was also kept in full swing with entertainment on the night by Ireland’s leading ragtime pianist Colm ‘Stride’ O’Brien.

If you’re looking for brash cocktails with loud attitude then keep walking, chances are you’ll have missed VCC’s discreet doorway presence anyway.

Ireland’s premiere arbiters of style Brendan Courtney and Sonya Lennon have published a new book encouraging people to feel great about themselves via the everyday means of fashion. “Your Best You” aims to teach women to work with what they've got now to look and feel great and is full of wonderful style tips and lessons.

"Your best You" is full of friendly accessible, achievable advice on looking and feeling your best.  The user friendly interactive workbook helps you analyse who you are today so your wardrobe fits your lifestyle, whether you’re a busy stay at home mum or a business woman with a hectic life. It also shows you how to dress your shape, not your size.

The new book was launched at a reception in Reiss on St Stephen’s Green and was attended by a host of faces from the fashion world including stylist Angela Scanlan, makeup artist Derrick Carberry and of course Lennon and Courtney themselves.
