In true Jameson Cult Film Club style, Dublin’s Mansion House was transformed into the U.S.S. Nostromo where official starship protocols were adhered to and invitees lucky enough to pass the quarantine regulations were transported into the abyss to watch the Oscar-winning classic Alien, re-released on Blu-Ray in all its former glory.
Guests entered the spaceship portal via air-locked doors shrouded in a green fog and were greeted by characters from the movie re-enacting famous scenes throughout the evening. Menacing aliens lurked in the shadows sending chills through the crowd, whilst live theatre and timed perfectly special effects with on-screen action helped to create an electric atmosphere in the venue.
Refreshingly smooth Jameson Whiskey Sours were served along with gourmet burgers and hotdogs while renowned DJ Aidan Kelly took to the decks. Among the movie buffs enjoying the Jameson Cult Film Club experience were comedians PJ Gallagher and Ger Divine, actor/director David Coffey, RAW star Matthew Toman, TV presenter Liam McCormack, Ray Foley and Lottie Ryan.
For the uninitiated, Jameson Cult Film Club is all about watching your favourite cult films at spectacular screenings, staged to transport you into the film’s universe. This is a free event for movie fans, so for details on the next Jameson Cult Film Club event, keep an eye on www.jamesoncultfilmclub.ie.
