The Grand Opening of The Lir, National Academy of Dramatic Art at Trinity College Dublin has taken place. Developed by the Cathal Ryan Trust in partnership with Trinity College Dublin, The Lir is formally associated with the world-renowned Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA).
The new academy trains young actors, designers, directors, playwrights, stage managers and theatre technicians to the highest international standards for careers in theatre, film, TV, radio and digital entertainment.
Among those at the opening were Danielle Ryan, Charlene McKenna, Saoirse Ronan, Alan Stanford, Aoibheann Garrihy, President elect Michael D Higgins and wife Sabina, Pat Shortt, Joe Duffy and Michael Colgan .
