The Morrison always had a reputation as an artistic hangout, and despite a €7 million refurbishment by new owner Yelena Baturina, it has lost none of its character, judging by the turnout at the reopening party.

Caroline Downey of MCD, Pat Creed of Warner Music, former Westlife star Nicky Byrne and rocker Mundy brought added to the musical theme.  The 138 rooms all feature lyrics by Irish singer songwriters, and Mundy took time out to visit one of his own rooms, the wall inscribed with Lyrics from his single ‘Gin & Tonic sky’.

Love Hate star Peter Coonan, who plays Fran in the hit TV series was hugely in demand for photos and charmed everyone by obliging happily.  Roz Flanagan, Louis Copeland, Glenda Gilson, Steve Wall from The Stunning and Nadia Forde were also lapping up the atmosphere at what was one of the best parties Dublin has seen in a long time.  GM of The Morrison Patrick Joyce was also on hand with a warm welcome.

Guests enjoyed wine, champagne, cocktails and beers from the bar and the canapés including mini burgers, chunky chips and mini steak sandwiches, went down a treat!  The Morrison Grill restaurant is already proving a hit with gourmands with talk among foodies of the unique Josper grilled steaks.
