Wine, and indeed fine food, connoisseurs gathered in Ireland's finest eaterie on Thursday evening to celebrate a very special partnership. Restaurant Patrick Guilbaud was the location to unveil the latest addition to the Tipperary Crystal range, the Patrick Guilbaud Connoisseur Wine Collection.
Declan Fearon of Tipperary Crystal explained to me that the perfect wine glass should be made from the finest clear crystal, giving optimum clarity and an unimpaired view and appreciation of the wine. It's easy to see why Patrick Guilbaud was inspired to collaborate with Tipperary Crystal. They both share the pursuit of perfection. As does Louise Kennedy, who also designs for them. Unable to attend, she was in Paris for the famous Maison et Objet trade show.
Celebrating the occasion were designer John Rocha and his wife Odette, the French Ambassador to Ireland, HE Frédéric Grasset, Mr. and Mrs. David Dilger, Eddie Shanahan of Arnotts, Margaret McCarthy of Blarney Woolen Mills and publisher Kevin Kelly, along with a coterie of others.
All of whom, like me, appreciate the finer things in life.
