The launch of the 2013 Dublin Horse Show, hosted by the Royal Dublin Society, kicked off the start of the season.  The event was held in The Champagne Bar at the RDS overlooking ring 2, where an incredible side saddle show jumping demonstration by Susan Oakes took place, as well as pony rides for children who attended.

Guests on the night included Lucy Kennedy with her son Jack, Ann Doyle, RTE's Marty Morrissey, model Sarah McGovern and her son Jude, Alison Canavan and her son James, Irish Chef d’Equipe Robert Splaine and actresses Aoibinn Garrihy and Aoibhenn McCall.

There was also kids entertainment in the form of a Punch and Judy show and an ice cream van to raise smiles on little ones faces. Grown-up guests enjoyed a Blossom Hill Zinfandel reception and canapés whilst listening to the cool tunes of three-piece band 'Manilla Strings'.

The Discover Ireland Dublin Horse Show is the largest summer event in Dublin, attracting tens of thousands of people and 1,500 horses and ponies to the RDS annually. The 2013 Show runs for five days from Wednesday 7th August to Sunday 11th August. General admission tickets for one day cost €21. Student/OAP’s/Children under 16 cost €15 per day and a Family day pass (2 Adults, 4 children) costs €54.
