The Jameson Gala at the Jameson Dublin International Film Festival took place at the Lighthouse Cinema in Smithfield with the screening of Cairo Time.

The debut film by director Ruba Nadda starred Academy Award nominee Patricia Clarkson (Six Feet Under, The Green Mile, Pieces of April) and Alexander Siddig (24, Star Trek: Deep Space 9, Kingdom of Heaven, Spooks) who received a very warm reception at the gala premiere (despite the inclement weather!).

Festival Director Gráinne Humphreys hosted a Q&A session with the cast after the movie which included director Ruba Nadda and Irish composer Niall Byrne whose score, with the Dublin Symphony Orchestra is amazing. There was a nice surprise in store afterwards as festival Chairman Arthur Lappin delivered a heartfelt toast and honorary Volta award to a humbled and gracious Patricia Clarkson.

Those who braved the cold weather were invited to follow the illuminated green cubes from the Lighthouse Cinema to the Old Jameson Distillery for the exclusive post-premiere party where they were treated to a welcome feast of food and drink.

Guests on the night included comedian Neil Delamere, Xposé presenters Lisa Cannon and Seán Munsanje and models Sarah McGovern, Sara Kavanagh and Aoife Cogan.
