Finlandia Vodka celebrated the upcoming Summer Solstice with an exclusive Midnight Sun Party in SIN last night. The place looked absolutely amazing, a vision in white created by Ronan Healy and his team at Catapult. DJ Mo Kelly entertained guests as they sipped delicious Finlandia Vodka cocktails and sampled the best of traditional Finnish specialities. There was even entertainment by fire jugglers, illusionists and dancers in the true mystic tradition of the Midnight Sun.

As the evening went on the lighted at the party changed, from white, to blue, to green to red. A celebration of Finland’s Arctic heritage - including the “Pure Beginning” of the Ice Age and followed by “Pure Awakening” triggered by the melting of Finland’s gigantic Ice Age Glaciers. The party climaxed with the “Pure Celebration” of Finland’s breath-taking Midnight Sun phenomenon and mystical Summer Solstice rituals.

One lucky punter and a friend were selected to experience the real Midnight Sun firsthand at an exclusive Midsummer’s party in Kittilä, one of Northern Finland’s most famous arctic villages. The winning couple will join over 300 VIP guests from 20 countries at the Global Finlandia Midnight Sun Party, where they’ll party all night long in the never-ending daylight. Sounds like my kinda party.

Among those in attendance last night were Jonathan McCrea, Frances Winston, Paul Trainer of The Dubliner, Fergal Breen, Jennifer Stevens and Elaine Prenderville of Irish Tatler, TV3’s Diane O’Connor, fashion designer John McCormack, Aoife Geraghty from The Design Centre, Andy Boase and Clionadh O’Leary.

And did you know that Finlandia Vodka is the world’s only vodka made exclusively from the finest six-row barley grown under the nurturing glow of Finland’s Midnight Sun? This barley is the most sought-after distiller’s grain in the world, indigenous to the long days and white nights of Finland’s extraordinary summer.

Another good reason to drink it. Not that any of us needed reasons to begin with.
