Guests arrived at The Lighthouse Cinema to
the smell of fresh Jasmine for the Irish premiere screening of the new movie
"Blue Jasmine".
After everything in her life falls to pieces,
including her marriage to wealthy businessman Hal (Alec Baldwin), elegant New
York socialite Jasmine (Cate Blanchett) moves into her sister Ginger’s (Sally
Hawkins) modest apartment in San Francisco to try to pull herself back together
again.
The film has been described by
reviewers as “startling and brilliant”, while New Yorker reviewer David Denby
added “Cate Blanchett gives the most
complicated and demanding performance of her movie career."
