The
National Gallery of Ireland celebrated the annual Turner exhibition and new
catalogue, ‘The Works of JMW Turner in the National Gallery of Ireland’
recently with a special Hennessy cognac reception for invited guests. The event
was presided over by HE Mr Dominick Chilcott, British Ambassador to Ireland.
Caroline Sleiman,
Market Development Manager for Moët Hennessy, welcomed guests with a selection
of cocktails, including the zesty Hennessy Ginger and the Hot Hennessy Berry; among
them author and editor Ciaran Carty, HE Mr. Maurizio Zanini, Italian Ambassador to Ireland and Ross Golden Bannon of
Food & Wine Magazine.
Authors of the new
Turner catalogue Anne Hodge and Niamh McNally were also in attendance, along
with members of the Irish art community including Brian Crowley (Pearse
Museum), sculptor Jason Ellis, portrait artist with James Hanley RHA, Director
of the NGI Sean Rainbird and Tim Cooke of the Ulster Museum.
The annual Turner
exhibit runs every year for the month of January only and will be on display in
the Print Gallery of the NGI until Jan 31.
