L’Oréal Colour Trophy

The Convention Centre Dublin played host to the “highlight” of every hairdresser's calendar last night when top salons from across the country battled it out to win the much coveted L’Oréal Colour Trophy Award.

It was the ultimate head-to-head but there could be just one overall winner on the evening, fighting off stiff competition, Peter Mark Training Centre, North Earl Street Street, Dublin reigned supreme as this year’s L’Oréal Colour Trophy winner. 

The L’Oréal Colour Trophy is the world’s longest running and largest, most directional live competition in hairdressing presenting hairdressing salons across Ireland with the platform to showcase their unique talent, by fusing fashion trends and technical excellence to create outstanding results.

There were also 2 other awards up for grabs on the night, which included; the Men’s Image Award won by Dylan Bradshaw and the Young Colourist Award, which was won by Danielle Whelan from Style Club.

Dublin’s stylish beauty emporium LA Creative was the destination of choice as they opened their doors for a Summer Style extravaganza hosted by TV3’s Xpose presenter, Karen Koster.  Ever so glamorous Karen welcomed over 40 invited beauty junkies and fashion-istas as she shared some of her insider celebrity secrets, red carpet top tips and tricks as well as her own beauty routine ritual and her ever-much-sought-after predictions on the hottest style trends for the summer ahead.

After Karen’s intimate style session, LA Creative’s impressive glass-fronted building on Chatham Street was a hub of activity as the pro team treated guests to an array of five-star pampering treatments including the latest trend in nail art courtesy of Essie mini-manicures, brow threading with Ireland’s leading expert Simar Marwaha as well as mini make-overs to ensure everyone was pampered, preened and red carpet ready!

Turn up the Volume

To celebrate John Frieda's 25th anniversary and the relaunch of its Luxurious Volume range, the salon's senior stylist Jake Davis flew in from London for an event at The Morrison. Guests included over 40 of Dublin's most stylish beauty bloggers and media, who enjoyed canapés, champagne and delicious macaroons in the recently refurbished designer hotel.

JakeDavis demonstrated the new Luxurious Volume range and introduced the brand new 'Fine to Full Blow Out Spray' to guests who watched in amazement as he transformed a model's hair with the products live on stage.  Guests included Rebecca McKnight and Grace O'Reilly, Ranau VonMeding and Elaine Hession.

Morgan fashion

Dublin’s best loved designer boutique hotel, The Morgan, hosted a fashion affair to remember in association with Arnotts and Style Club recently.  Upon arrival at the stunningly lit entrance to the stylish hotel, guests were treated to tailor made cocktails and Asian fusion tapas in the funky Morgan Bar while resident DJ Hudson Passos pumped up the volume.

Celebrity stylist Lisa Fitzpatrick, alongside Clara Halpin of Arnotts, presented a fashion catwalk packed with the latest in Autumn/Winter 2012 trends while beautiful models dazzled in perfect Christmas party pieces, warming winter looks and sizzling shoes and accessories from key Arnotts fashion brands.

Guests then proceeded to various areas within the hotel resembling a fashion and beauty wonderland: the hotel’s magnificent Connection suite was transformed into a mini version of the Arnotts Beauty Hall, while Style Club transformed the Alpha Suite into a stylish salon with all the trimmings, delighting guests with hair makeovers and style consultations.

After making their way around the hotel’s plush bedrooms and apartments clad in Philippe Starck designer furniture, guests went on to enjoy the cherry atop The Morgan Hotel: The Morgan Penthouse, a split level dreamland with sweeping 360 views of Dublin City and an exquisitely unique retro chrome American Airstream trailer.

The Art Team

The Art Team - elite hair salon of Grafton Street toasted its first birthday with a glitzy bash recently. The evening celebrations kicked off with a drinks reception hosted by the Art Team’s house model and stylist Michele Mc Grath. Throughout the evening the creative team offered style tips, AW key looks and answers to any questions on how to look after tresses for the winter months.

The Art Team has worked on some of Michele’s recent shoots along with clients such as Laura Whitmore, Stacey Solomon and CiCi Cavanagh. The team has quickly secured its place as one of Dublin’s top salons, with a number of recent fashion shows under its belt, including the DIT Fashion Show and Dublin Fashion Festival HQ shows.

The Art Team’s salon is a creative space, offering designer hairdressing at an affordable price. The place is styled in a palette of white and black and achieves an almost clubby, lounge-like feel. Guests on the night included Nadia Forde, Hayley Ryan, Leah O’Reilly, Jodie Wood, Jenny Dixon, Karena Graham, Amanda Wong and artist Stephen Mannion.
